The memorial consists of a flag pole with a plaque in front of it. The bronze plaque is attached to a terracotta-colored pedestal. The plaque reads:
"September 11, 2001
In memory of those people who perished at the World Trade Center, at the Pentagon, and in a field in Pennsylvania. Lest we forget..."
On the flag pole flies the American and Californian flag.
