Construction of the Oak Grove Schoolhouse was begun in 1912 and completed in 1913. The school house replaced an earlier school which had stood on the same site until it was no longer large enough to serve the number of students in the area. The Beaux Arts styled school house was designed by architect Albert Sutton. The building served as a school until it was closed in 1968. The building is now a private residence and a meditation retreat facility. The building was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.
