PMVFD was established in 1904 and soon after purchased its first ladder wagon for $50. Since then it has grown considerably and now has two Engines, three Trucks, one Ambulance and a Rescue Boat. For the history between 1904 and today see their website for full details. In addition to general Fire and Rescue services the department has a Volunteer Ambulance crew, Fire Police Service, and a River Rescue Team.
