In the autumn of 1816 the family of Abraham Lincoln, then 7 years old, migrating to Indiana, rested and recuperated about three weeks in accabin that stood near here. Local residents gave them food. Lincolns route in Kentucky stated near Hodgenville and went through Elizabethtwon, Vine Grove, Harned, here to Cloverport, river ferry. Lincolns travled by ox~cart.
