The posted coordinates are for the Morans Falls Lookout platform located a trail with a return journey of about 6 kilometers. A sign at the lookout platform provides the following information:

Moran Falls... shaping the valley. Fluctuating from a thundering roar in flood to a gentle trickle in drought, Moran Creek has helped create the valley below -- a process that's taken millions of years.

At first water flowing down the extinct volcano's slopes eroded softer, weaker rocks and carved gullies. Over time, water erosion transformed the gullies into deep gorges. Where creeks eroded a gorge back to more resistant rock, cliffs and waterfalls formed.

Plummeting 80 metres, Morans Falls is slowly undercutting softer rock, causing rock fall and reshaping the cliff face -- making changes barely visible in our lifetime.
