This excellent example is located in the Bird Cemetery located at US-69 and NE Coal Valley Road - 3.5 miles east of Weir, Ks.

The Samuel P. Maddox Marker is located under the trees towards the back of the cemetery. This example is the tree stump, but it rests on a stack of 4 cut logs. Mr. Maddox was born on New Year's Day in 1857 and died Nov. 21, 1911. I found no other information on Mr. Maddox.
