This tank probably dates from the 1920's to 1930's. It is being maintained and possibly may be in use, although Nash County has several newer tanks a few miles away.
To reach from US-64, take NC-581 into Spring Hope. Turn right onto Old US-64 and go about one mile. Turn left on Hopkins Avenue, and right on Dodd Street. Circle counter-clockwise around the school to the top of the hill.
This tank can be logged as a benchmark (EZ4073).
