The Charles River Museum of Industry (CRMI), located in the old factory complex of the Boston Manufacturing Company in the center of Waltham, is an eclectic collection of objects either related to machinery used in Waltham or were manufactured there.

The museum fits in the old powerhouse of the former factory complex of the Boston Manufacturing Company. Most of the exhibits are placed in the large room which was likely where the furnaces were located. There is plenty to see, however. The Waltham area is rich with innovative companies. Exhibits featuring innovation include:
- a machine from a company that was first in making paper bags
- a model of the original mills of the Boston Manufacturing Company, considered the first fully automated factory in America.
- a recently made replica of the first power loom in America, first developed by Francis Cabot Lowell and Paul Moody.
- a comprehensive watch and clock exhibit from several companies, including Waltham Watch, the first to use precision manufacturing and interchangeable parts methods to manufacture watches.
- artifacts, such as a bicycle and an Orient Buckboard automobile manufactured by the Waltham Manufacturing Company/Charles Metz Company.

Other objects within the museum include:
- an old fire apparatus that was Waltham's first powered pumper, made by the Amoskeag Manufacturing Company.
- an old bell

The museum is well worth stopping by and visiting. Parking is a bit tricky in Waltham. There is a public garage (must pay a fee) on the south side of the river, behind the Embassy Cinema. From there, cross a bridge over the Charles River and turn right at the intersection to the entrance.
