Gilliam is a village in Caddo Parish, Louisiana, United States. It is located in northwest Louisiana in the Red River delta country. The population was 178 at the 2000 census. Historic Red Bayou is adjacent to the church and road. Red Bayou is historic in that it was the steamboat route around the Red Rive Great Raft for many years in the nineteenth century.
On May 13, 1908 a tornado struck the community around dinnertime, killing 34 people and devastating the town.
