The Salem Fire Department was established on May 13, 1905 and consisted of 18 volunteers. At that time, the population was approximately 2,100. Over the past 95 years, the Town of Salem has grown and changed into a small metropolis known for its large commercial and retail industry as well as its growing residential population. As of the 2000 census, Salem hosted a population of 28,000 with a daytime population estimate of over 80,000.
This station was built in 2005 and houses an Engine Company, Rescue, Forestry, Marine Unit, and an Engine.
