This store gets fantastic reviews from its customers, and no wonder: they not only sell the best quality outdoor gear, they run their own outdoor education program with lessons and trips. For kayaking, they offer classes in paddling, skills and safety, and nine different tour locations. For back-country skiers, their range is from introductory technique to advanced snow camping. They also rent the widest variety of outdoor equipment in the Bay Area -- including such things as crampons and avalanche beacons. In addition to new equipment, used equipment (previous rentals) may be for sale at their store depending on availability.
