The tower is designed by Rijkswaterstaat and is build in 1915.
It has one waterbassin of 600m3 and the height is 24.25m.
The tower stands in the port area of IJmuiden and it was meant to provide the fishermen with sufficient water. It was in use until mid-nineties.
