Albert W. "Allie" Young (1865-1935) and his father, Col. Z. T. Young, had law offices here. Allie was elected to state senate in 1923 and served until his death. He was a political strategist who helped steer campaigns of Governors Goebel and Beckham. His most enduring legacy is Morehead State University.
