Official description: DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1935 4.2 MI SW FROM FORDTOWN. IN WASHINGTON COUNTY, 4.2 MILES SOUTHWEST ALONG THE GREENEVILLE ROAD FROM THE CLINCHFIELD, CAROLINA AND OHIO RAILWAY STATION AT FORDTOWN, SULLIVAN COUNTY, AT THE CHASE RESIDENCE, 12 YARDS WEST OF THE CENTERLINE OF THE ROAD, 12 YARDS NORTH OF THE CORNER OF THE PORCH, 3 YARDS SOUTHEAST OF A WIRE FENCE, AND LEVEL WITH THE ROAD. A STANDARD DISK, STAMPED E 98 1935 AND SET IN THE TOP OF A CONCRETE POST.
