Originally found this benchmark on 9/1/03. At that time, I met the property owner, Mr. Ladies, who described living at this residence all his life, thus saw the TVA surveyor put the actual benchmark into the rock outcropping back in 1935. The benchmark is now behind his barn (former store). There is an old TVA witness sign 2 yds NE of the actual disk. The garage from 1935 is gone.
