On the broad top of Iron Band fell is a curry stool, which is a concrete three legged spider with a 5 cm bolt in the centre.

As can be seen from the photographs each leg is about 1.2 metre long. Heather and bog dwelling vegetation is trying to cover it. The views from here are superb.
For those wanting to visit, there is parking at county boundary cattle grid. (see nearby Waymarks.) Then pick your way through least boggy terrain to the high ground.

Nearest village is Brough. Nearest feature is the county boundary between Cumbria and Durham.
