Lynd Fruit Farm has been in existence since about 1880, when the very first orchard was planted here. Over the years many new trees have been added to the farm, and it currently encompasses about 500 acres, and is capable of producing over 150,000bu yearly.

The pick your own system was started in the 1960's and is still very popular today. The main reason people stop is for the apples. There are many different varieties available, though usually only 2-3 different types of apples are available for picking on a given weekend. The picking varies every year, so it's best to check their website to find what you want to pick, and when you can pick it. In addition they also have PYO pumpkins, and pears as well.

When picking apples, one is charged by "weight"....sort of. Basically you pull in and they ask what size bag you want...either 10 or 20lbs. Then you go fill it up, and pay when you leave based on your bag. They don't actually weigh them. Just to check, I weighed the "20lb bag" that I picked, when I got home, and actually had closer to 25lbs.

During the fall there are many activities at the farm. Picking, of course, bonfires, hay rides, corn mazes, and many other activities for both children and adults.
