High Falls is one of Ontario's more well known waterfalls. The Muskoka River drops 48 feet here over a large Gneiss formation. There is a power generating facility here that was built in a way to maintain the natural beauty of the falls as best possible. A bailey bridge above the falls lets you walk across the top to the other side of the river.
There is ample parking at High Falls park, picnic tables, BBQ pits - the whole works. There is a path that lets you get about halfway down. Please be careful about approaching the river - there is a power station here and the river level can fluctuate quickly.
The Muskoka River continues downstream to Wilson's Falls and Bracebridge Falls.
