The above plaque located by the bell provides information indicating that the bell was originally located at the Watertown School from 1893-1959. Presumably the school was closed down or destroyed and the bell was moved to the Eastside Elementary School in 1959. It stayed there until 2001 when it was moved to the Columbia County School Board Administrative Complex. It is located at the main entrance to this administrative complex.
