The drive out to Crisp Point Lighthouse is well worth the view. The 18 mile unpaved road is narrow and desolate. Make sure you check the road conditions if you are going to visit late fall or winter.

Crisp Point was one of the 5 Lake Superior U.S. Life-Saving Service Stations along the coast between Munising and Whitefish Point. It inherited its name from Christopher Crisp, one of the life saving station keepers.
The lighthouse was constructed between 1903-1904. It became operational May 5, 1904 and was decommissioned in 1993.
Erosion is the major concern for the future of the lighthouse.
