First rest area north of Albany.
I stopped to waymark the rest area, found a treasure trove: Historical marker, 9/11 memorial, unique weathervane and police station all in the same spot.

Special Features: A NYSDOT sits memorial is nearby, which included a 9/11 plaque. A New York Historical marker is not far from the rest area and if you look to the top of the building you can spot a unique weathervane. And among the amenities inside the rest area the State Police also have a station in he building.
