Tucumcari Mountain, with it's giant "T" on the side, is the inspiration for the mesa in Radiator Springs, the fictional location in the 2006 sleeper movie "Cars".
Once we where in Tucumcari we tried to find our way to the mesa. The coordinates are from a point where the road dead-ends onto private property. If you find yourself in Tucumcari follow Mountain Road south from Route 66 just east of town. It will take you right to the base, from there you can hike up. If only we had known before having to head home.
