The home is styled in the Greek Revival style, which was used for many of the great homes of this era. It stands as an Historic Century Home.
The house is now a private residence, but the current owners have published two booklets on the history of West Long branch. When renovating the house, the owners discovered a stone with the date 1737 inscribed on it. This is possibly the date the smaller section of the house was built. Alexander McGregor added to the home around 1790 and was later William Tallman occupied the house.
