Roadside Interpretive Kiosk on Ore. Hwy. 27 near the North end of the Lower Crooked River Back Country Byway. The kiosk contains two signs: A Passage to Plenty (describing the byway) and Roads for Adventure (early travel history).
The Lower Crooked River Back Country Byway extends for 43 miles from near Prineville along the scenic canyon of the Crooked River to Bowman Dam and then across hilly sections of Oregon’s high desert to U.S. Hwy. 20. The route was designated as an Back Country Byway on Sept. 26, 1989.
