"Florentine Boar," "Little Pig" or "Il Porcellino." Known locally as Puking Pig or Barfing Boar.

The original was reportedly done in marble by a Greek or Roman artist. A plaster mold was made by Renaissance sculptor Pietro Tacca (1577-1540). In 1857, Benelli, working in Florence from Tacca's old repaired plaster mold, cast a bronze boar. Several casts of the 1857 boar have reportedly been made, including this in Lyndonville. The Lyndonville boar was a gift to the city from Luther B. Harris, then bank president of the Lyndonville National Bank. An amateur sculptor himself, Harris chiseled the foundation for the statue.

Sculptor: Giuseppe Benelli (1819-1861) Bronze on a granite base Cast 1857. Dedicated 1912
