There are two swinging suspension bridges here with this entry being the first. The second bridge will appear following this entry. That second bridge's location is just a few hundred yards upstream following this the first bridge, so if you get to this one, you should easily get to the second. This site gives more information to the history of the area and how to access.

One of Maui's hidden little treasures is Waihee Valley and its most notable man made feature, "the Swinging Bridges".

With my visit recently (July 2008) I'd add that this area is open from 9AM to 5PM and that there is a staffed trailer to give you your permit on site (a few bucks), so no need to worry obtaining a permit way back in town as the link above suggests.
Visit Instructions:
  • Walk across the bridge! That is why you came here, wasn't it?
  • Bring a camera so that you can take a photo of the bridge. Upload at least one photo that you took of the bridge, you or others can be in the photo.
  • Include any additional history that you may know or have learned about the bridge.
  • Last but not least, include any story you may have about finding the bridge or your journey across the bridge.
