This abandoned bridge is located just north of Mineral Ohio on the west side of State Route 356. It is visible from the highway when trees have lost their leaves.

The bridge crosses Hewett Fork, a stream that parallels SR 356 to Mineral. This stream has been a long time victim of pollution from acid leaching from nearby abandoned mines.

This bridge is of the stringer type and uses beams that are built up from riveted plates. The bridge deck is missing.

The bridge appears to be on state property which is part of the Waterloo Wildlife Experimental Station. The road the bridge serves appears to be on private property.

I walked across the bridge a few times. It it seems to be very solid even though the metal is rusted severely in spots. The beams on this bridges roadbed appear to be about 18" wide.
