When the trains were a major transportation hub between small towns in Tennessee and Kentucky, this rail line was vital. Today it's a long forgotten piece of the city's history: small, mostly unknown to a new generation who can't imagine riding the rails. Sad. You can walk up and stand on top of the old tunnel although there is a chain across the road limiting access by car. Actually getting down into the tunnel entails a lot of bushwacking and the climb is steep. Sadly the little tunnel, less than 30' wide, is not being preserved and will one day cave in on itself. By using the link below you can view a video about this little tunnel.
