A prominent feature of the Alumni Hall rotunda, the bronze statue of George Washington, was cast by William Hubbard in 1853. It is one of six castings from the marble portrait of Washington that was carved in 1790 by the French neo-classical sculptor Jean-Antoine Houdon.
