The memorial is a stone cross set in a small garden. Behind the cross is a wall on which are five plaques recording the names of those servicemen from Congleton who fell during World War I and World War II.
In addition there is a plaque in memory of the men of Royal Netherlands Brigade which was formed in Congleton. There is also a plaque remembering Corporal Douglas Swindells MM who was killed in Oman in 1958
