Enter Castlewood Canyon State Park from Colorado State Highway 83 about 5 miles south of Franktown, CO. From the Canyon Point parking area take the Inner Canyon trail(1.16 mi) or the Lake Gulch trail (0.8 mi) to join the Rimrock trail. Follow the Rimrock trail about 0.4 mi up hill to the top of the east side on the old Castlewood Canyon Dam ruins. The benchmark is located at the top on the north side of a stand of scrub oak. Posted coordinates are close but approximate and should be updated upon next visit.
