This park is about 35km north of our home in northern Alberta. we camped here this past weekend and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Very clean and well kept. There is a lot more information at the following website:
(visit link)

Largest auto-accessible lake in Alberta (108 km long); the 983-metre Marten Mountain Viewpoint overlooks the lake; lakeshore trails provide access to ancient beach ridges & shifting sand dunes. Lesser Slave Lake Bird Observatory is located in the park, along a migration corridor on the eastern shore of the lake. It is the northernmost bird observatory in Canada & more than 240 bird species have been observed through its monitoring programs.
Lesser Slave Lake Provincial Park is also home to the Boreal Centre for Bird Conservation (BCBC) which opened in June 2006. The BCBC is a world-class research & education facility. It provides an exhibit gallery, gift shop, meeting rooms & office space. It is close to trails & offers year-round interpetive and education programs. The Nest Boreal Hostel is located nearby. It provides hostel-style accommodation in a tranquil boreal forest setting. To book, call 1-866-718-BIRD or email info@borealbirdcentre.ca.
