University of California 85-48 - U.S. Benchmarks on Waymarking.com

David J. Russell (L.S 3174) appears to have been one of UC Berkeley's surveyors, as I keep finding these BMs on campus. It's located just down the hill from the Campenile, right in the middle of the roadway. The marks are very worn, but I found another nearby numbered 85-40. This may mean that it's the 48th one surveyed in 1985--so perhaps there are at least another 46 to find!
Note to Geocachers: I did a bit of research on this and discovered in the Groundspeak forums that it was originally found by the legendary Motorgrrl back in 2005. Tragically, she is no longer with us. Long live her memory!
