Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church was built in 1872 to serve the German population which settled in the area. The adjacent cemetery has many interesting grave markers dating from 1872/3 including many written in German and many German metal crosses. The parish did operate a school however it is closed and is used as a Headstart school.
