* Eureka Tower opened on October 11, 2006 taking 4 years 2 months to complete.

The worlds only 'EDGE' experience! A glass cube which projects 3 metres out from the building, with you in it - suspended almost 300 metres above the ground!

It starts with the glass being green with no view when you enter.

Then you feel it moving out into the void! Still green but then a shattering sound of glass is heard and the glass becomes clear as..

and if your crazy like me you will lie on the floor over the glass panel (floor has 3inch strips of metal and 2 foot glass panels) and look straight down as the glass goes clear!

"AWESOME!" Took my breath away! - Dont think I need to do it again....

Strange how you want to stand on the metal strips most of the time..

*Top 10 Floors glass covered with 24 carat gold plating!
* Construction cost approximately A $500 million
* Eureka Skydecks lifts are the fastest in the Southern Hemisphere
* The lifts travel at more than 9 metres per second
* The facade consists of glass aluminium panels covering an area of 40,000 sq. metres
* 3,680 stairs - 92 storeys - 52,000 sq. metres of windows
* The Skydeck is situated on the 88th floor and is the highest public vantage point (285m) in the Southern Hemisphere
* The top of the Tower can flex up to 600mm in high winds. Two 300,000 litre water tanks on levels 90 & 91 help to dampen the oscillations
* Horizontal white lines on Eureka Tower represent the linear line markings on a surveyor's measuring staff.
