A very old bell in front of the First Baptist Church in Marathon, NY.

I used to play around this bell when I was a child. In the late 1990's early 2000 they added the cage around the bell to prevent other children from going inside the bell and support it as it is getting old. I don't understand the date on the lower plaque as I know for a fact it wasn't placed there in 1973. The bell says:

The cage underneath says:
