Three historical markers stand at the same pull out along route 10 west of Sisseton SD. Each tells what happened to two people caught out in Dakota blizzards. This is one of the two tales that has a tragic ending.

A few miles north of here, in November 1958, two Dakota Indian brothers perished in an early winter storm. It is said that when the winter winds blow through the pine grove where they were found they can be heard singing in the Dakota language.
