Three historical markers stand at the same pull out along route 10 west of Sisseton SD. Each tells what happened to two people caught out in Dakota blizzards. Two of the tales have a tragic ending but this one tells about survivors of a storm.

IN 1937, two homesick teenagers, tired of boarding in town to attend school, started to walk over snow blocked roads to their homes west of Sisseton. When blizzard winds struck the boys were lucky and they found shelter at a homestead.
