All the meats here, from the brisket to the chicken, have a delicate pecan flavor from the smoking process. Add in good potato salad and awesome pecan pie, and you’ve got a place worth eating at.

Right across from the Museum of South Texas History, Willie B’s serves up traditional Texas barbecue with some twists - the wood used for smoking is pecan, not mesquite; the potato salad is mashed, in true East Texas style, but made with sour cream instead of mustard; and, this being the Valley, pico de gallo is a side to every meat. The barbecue sauce is good and the huge slices of thick, rich pecan pie are worth a stop here all by themselves.
