The coordinates that we've posted are for the "White Rock" which the town and the beach are named after.
The 'Hump' on Marine Drive is the boundary between West Beach and East Beach at White Rock Beach. There the roadway briefly rises to about 200 feet above sea level, offering spectacular views of Semiahmoo Bay, the White Rock Pier and in the distance, the outlying islands.
A sunny day will bring thousands of visitors to White Rock Beach who stroll, crab fish, and dive from the pier, feed flocks of wheeling gulls on the promenade, listen to street musicians and view art outside the museum and enjoy ice cream cones in the eclectic atmosphere of Marine Drive. At low tide, children at play behind the ramparts of their castles echo the glory days of the Sandcastle contest when a quarter of a million people would come to admire the best sand sculptures in the world at work.
Summer evenings bring out a parade of exotic cars from every era and fair weather motorcycle enthusiasts. Savoury aromas from some of BC's finest restaurants drift over the crowds and the patios of the sidewalk cafes bustle with diners.
Fortunately, natural tranquility can be found only minutes away from all the hustle as west beach parts from Marine Drive and eagle's nests overlook forest, sand, and sea
