Price's Creek Lighthouse is the only one of eight surviving lighthouses along the Cape Fear River.Congress authorized construction in 1848. Price's Creek Lighthouse was only 20 feet tall. It was replaced by unattended beacons. Price's Creek Lighthouse is on private property, not accessible to the public. The property owner has restored the structure, but the lighthouse is still missing its glass and iron lamp top. It is it is visible from the ferry between Fort Fisher and Southport.
