Black Hawk was a mining boom town that fell on hard times. The town was revitalized when Colorado voters approved limited stakes gambling in three former mining towns in Colorado (Black Hawk, Central City and Cripple Creek). I really like how the artist used the small space to create a life-like representation of bears hunting in a water fall. Parking for these sculptures is available at the U.S. Post office next to the little park. (I will get pictures of the sculpture with the fountain running in the summer.)
