Lincoln, Abraham, Memorial Garden - Springfield, IL - U.S. National Register of Historic Places on Waymarking.com

Originally 60 acres, the site was mostly farm fields along the edge of Lake Springfield. Under the guidance of Jens Jensen, trees were planted and meandering trails were layed out. They were designed to be a landscape Abraham Lincoln would have been familiar with and, in turn, to provide a living memorial to Abraham Lincoln.

Today, the trees are mature and the garden is now over 100 acres, which includes a restored prairie the west.
