The Delta Democrat Times Building was built 1881. The building is listed on the Register mainly due to the famous newspaperman and author Hodding Carter who ran the Delta Democrat Times. Hodding Carter, a Pulitzer Prize winning author, was known for his stand for racial justice and religious tolerance.
