The tower was erected by the British Legion in memory of those who died in the wars. There is a plaque which states the following:
British Legion
New Bradwell & District Branch
In Memoriam
They shall grow not old as we that are left grow old
Age shall not weary them. Nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning.
We will remember them.
