Station Dordrecht is the oldest train station of the Dutch city Dordrecht and was opened on 1 January 1872. It lies at south of the centre. The terminal in neo-renaissancestijl have been accelerated and fall by its monumental construction style in the same category, as station zwolle. In the time that station dordrecht was built, it stood on the territory of the then municipality Dubbeldam. Dordrecht was connected on the spoorwegennet then one Rotterdam wants a link with Antwerp. This connection could come about after the construction of the track bridges concerning the large rivers at northwest and south of dordrecht and in 1872, opened. On 16 July 1885 the connection came to Gorinchem in use.
