This public beach always shows up in any listing of the World's most popular beaches. One of its signature features is its pink sand - derived from a particular single-celled organism that lives in the coral reef offshore. The red skeletal remains mix with other shell remains, and the sand becomes pinkish in color.
Horseshoe Bay has lifeguards on duty from May to October, and has toilet & changing facilities. Food & drinks can be purchased, and chairs, snorkels, umbrellas, etc. can be rented.
This beach is a great place for swimming & the waves are often relatively calm - a must see!
