Sca Fell is the second highest mountain in England, the highest being it's nearest neighbour and one of the same range,Sca Fell Pike, which being a mere 50 feet or so higher gets many many more visitors,in fact maybe one in every 50 visitors to the range will call here, but it is their loss as Scafell has much to offer, boasting some of the best rock architecture in the land, with some wonderful ghills, crags and on it's lower slopes waterfalls, one of the best being Cam Spout, well worth a visit and a good way to ascend this mountain is via Cam Spout and upper Eskdale.
Their is also a good ridge walk,1 and quarter miles away South to Slight Side.
