This is a newer building that also has the Police department on the west wing. There is a statue of Na Nex Se, the widow of the Shawnee Indian Chief Black Hoof, who continued to farm 18 acres after the death of her husband. The town hoped to continue with her hard working inspiration. Also, in front of the Police Department, is a very inspiring eagle statue with no inscription or dedication.
Information from email from the City of Lenexa:
"Lenexa City Hall has had several additions and reconfigurations since the original building was constructed in the late 1970s or early 1980s. The last major addition was in 1996 and Shaughnessy Fickel and Scott designed our current Planning, Finance, Human Resources, and informational areas on the South Side of the Facility. In 1994, our Municipal Court was added on, and the architect for that work was Abend, Singleton, and Associates."
