Neat "Named" water tower, located in the heart of Carthage, NC. Two very interesting things about it. First it has a Carriage Logo above the name. A reference to the Buggy Festival ( maybe ) which is held in Carthage every year. Most likely derived from the Tyson Buggy Co. (1850's - 1920's) that produced Carriages sold all over the South. It also had a Bell mounted on the tower. I have never seen a bell on one before. Not sure what the exact use was, but still very neat. Also odd that it is not fenced off. This is one of the few I have seen you can actually walk up to and touch. Very nice little NC town. Another Mayberry like beautiful place.
